Becoming a dad isnโt without its challenges. Whether itโs your first child or your third, a new baby is a major life transition, bringing different responsibilities and changing the dynamic of relationships, our Lewisham Being Dad groups are here to help you navigate fatherhood.
Who is Being Dad for?
Lewisham Being Dad groups are free for men who live in Lewisham borough and:
- Are expectant dads.
- Are new dads with a child under two years old.
- Are male caregivers such as a grandparent of young children up to the age of two.
Stay-at-home, working, adoptive and foster dads and step-fathers are all welcome.
Topics covered include:
- Understanding your parenting identity/style.
- Supporting your partner in your new parental role.
- The changing dynamics with your partner, family and friends.
Plus proven techniques for managing stress, tiredness and worry.
The groups are led by men with their own personal experience of looking after themselves as dads or male caregivers.
November – December Zoom groups
When:ย Tuesday evenings 8-9pm, starting on 14 November โ 5 December
Where:ย Online via Zoom. You will be sent login details after you have registered.
Open to: new or expectant dads and men who and care for children under two years old.
NB: As this is a Lewisham-funded service, priority is given to Lewisham residents, but dads from Bromley and Greenwich are welcome too if space is available.
